As part of the highly anticipated migration towards an IP-based audio infrastructure in the Düsseldorf - Duisburg "Deutsche Oper am Rhein", three IP-native Lawo mc²56 audio production consoles sharing a common A__UHD Core audio engine, plus Lawo A__line stageboxes, have been installed in Düsseldorf's opera house.
The new set of consoles serves for all purposes a theatre needs: live mixing of sound for audience including special 3D panning functions based on tracking, recording and travel (for performances in different places).
On top of that a standalone 16-fader extender bay can be used with any of the 3 consoles to expand its fader count.
The overall footprint of redundant DSP and redundant routing is only 4 RU, which is a great advantage.
